spark plug wires
Question:
FYI, I just changed my plugs and wires this weekend. The first set of wires that I bought (Autolite) did not fit. These were supposedly custom made for my engine. I went to NAPA and bought a set of their wires (made by Belden). These fit perfectly. I suspect that Belden makes the original equipment wires that were on my Explorer. The plug boots were identical. They’re guaranteed for life and cost only $37. The Motorcraft were quoted to me at $80 from Checker. 98 Sport SOHC 4wd
Response:
I have installed hundreds of sets of Belden wires, with very good luck. They seem very tough and heat resistant.

AC Delco. Try http://www.GMPartsDirect.com to get reasonable prices.
Response:
Go to an area auto parts store and specify ‘lifetime’ warranty. Should be all you need unless you are turning more than 5000 rpm on a regular basis.
